On the 14th September 2024, 12 Lenvi colleagues took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, a 25-mile route in the Yorkshire Dales, summiting Ingleborough, Whernside, and Pen-Y-Ghent within 12 hours.
The team took on the challenge in aid of Saint Michael’s Hospice, a vital charity providing compassionate care and support to people affected by terminal illness across the Harrogate district. Saint Michael’s Hospice is part of North Yorkshire Hospice Care, alongside Herriot Hospice Homecare and Just ‘B’, offering essential services, including hospice care, emotional wellbeing, and bereavement support, all free of charge to those in need. Saint Michael's recognise and support each person as an individual with unique journeys, experiences and needs. They are driven by the belief that everyone has the right to high quality, personalised care and support that is responsive to those individual needs, regardless of age, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or social circumstances, without discrimination.
The Lenvi team not only completed the challenge within 12 hours, they also raised £1,780 for Saint Michael’s Hospice in the process - thank you to everyone for their support. For those still wishing to donate, there is still time to do so via our JustGiving page.
One of the challengers, Sam Goodacre - Director of Product, commented on the experience
"Though it's incredibly tough - or maybe because of it - I love taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge! It's both mentally and physically demanding (three weeks later, I'm still nursing a blister on my big toe!), but the sense of achievement crossing the finish line in under 12 hours is unmatched. However, knowing that we're raising vital funds for a great local charity makes the suffering all the more worthwhile! St. Michael's relies on the generosity of donations and fundraisers, and I'm proud that we, at Lenvi, can contribute our part."
